Sri Ekkirala Anantakrishna was born as the eldest son of Master E.K. on 10th May 1951 at Kailasapatnam, a village in Vishakapatnam District. When he was a child of three years, he was sent to his grandfather Bhagavan Ekkirala Ananthacharya and grandmother Smt. Lakshmi (second wife of Sri Ananthacharya). Just like his father and uncles, Anantakrishna was educated at home by Bhagavan Ananthacharya and Smt. Lakshmi. When Anantakrishna was a child of four years, he stayed one year in Varanasi with his grandfather and grandmother. During that period he had the opportunity of having a dip in holy river Ganga at the time of sunrise and sunset everyday. During this period Anantakrishna was initiated in writing the scripts of Devanagari,Telugu and English by his grandfather. Also Bhagavan Ananthacharya started to teach his grandson Sanskrit and English languages while Smt. Lakshmi was teaching Telugu and Hindi languages. In this manner he was trained to learn these four languages simultaneously from the very beginning.
Once in 1958, Anantakrishna was taken by his grandfather and grandmother to Jagannadha Puri to attend All India Oriental conference. Babu Rajendra Prasad, the first President of Indian Republic, was the chief guest. During the conference there was a discussion about the possibility of implementing three language formula in children education. Bhagavan Ananthacharya proposed four language formula and put his grandson as an example. Little Anantakrishna spontaneously presented his speech equally in Sanskrit, Telugu, Hindi and English. This proposal was accepted and recommended to the Government of India to implement in all the educational institutions across the country.
Just like his father and uncles, Anantakrishna was never sent to any school. His grandfather and grandmother trained him in writing matriculation examination from Andhra University. After this directly he entered in S.R.R. & C.V.R. Government College in Pre-University course (PUC) in 1966. Since his very early age, he was trained by his grandfather in the study of Kavyas and dramas of Kalidasa and other great poets in Sanskrit. Also, he was made to read dramas of Shakespeare and poetry of several eminent poets of English language. Similarly, Anantakrishna was taught Hindi literature with dramas and Kavyas and also from Telugu literature by his grandmother. He passed many examinations in Hindi conducted by Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachara Sabha, and the examinations in Sanskrit conducted by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. In all these examinations passed before matriculation examination.
Anantakrishna was trained by his grandfather in practicing principles of Ayurveda in daily routine which were explained in the textbooks of Ayurveda as "Swasthavritta". Also he was trained in identifying various herbs and medicinal substances and in the preparation of Ayurvedic medicines and their application. Also, Bhagavan Ananthacharya trained his grandson in reciting Vedic mantras with the study of their meaning and their application in the rituals. The training received from his grandfather since childhood provided a disciplined life with fearlessness, self-reliance and how to behave with elders and people around in the society.
After completion of PUC at Vijayawada, with the permission of his grandfather, Anantakrishna shifted to Visakhapatnam and joined his parents. He got admitted in M.r.s. A.V.N College in Visakhapatnam to study B.Sc with biological sciences, physics, and chemistry from 1967 to 1970. His second language was Sanskrit in the PUC and as well as B.Sc. Even while he was a student, he started to conduct training classes in Sanskrit language for the interested members among the disciples of Master E.K. when Master E.K. established ‘Janakulam’ school, Anantakrishna was given the responsibility of administration along with other members. Also he was teaching science and Sanskrit language in Janakulam. After completion of the degree in college, with the instruction of Master E.K., he joined in the Sanskrit department of the Andhra University to study M.A. Sanskrit. After completion of M.A. in 1972, he continued in the department to study M.Phil. After M.Phil., he was offered to join the department as a lecturer, but he stepped out of the university to work out the plans given by Master EK and not to enter in employment anywhere.
Master E.K. declared in public that none of his sons will seek employment anywhere and will follow the formula of self-reliance given by Master E.K. Accordingly, Master E.K. instructed Anantakrishna and M.R.L.Rao to take up printing and publishing monthly Telugu magazine ‘Navani’ and other books written by Master E.K. With the instruction of Master E.K., Anantakrishna received a loan from a bank and purchased a letter press in working condition. Master E.K. named it as ‘Vani Printers’. Anantakrishna got trained in dispensary work during his student days since after coming to Visakhapatnam from Vijayawada. After completion of post-graduation with the instruction of Master E.K., he started to work in the dispensary as one of the doctors. In 1974, he started to attend medical camps in the villages in West Godavari district followed by Dr. E.V.M Acharya and Sri Dhara Radha Krishnamurthy. In the later years, these medical camps were expanded into medical tours conducted every month by Anantakrishna and Dr. E.V.M. Acharya in many centers along with the local doctors and volunteers of the centers.
In the year 1976, with the blessings of Bhagavan Ananthacharya and under the guidance and instruction of Master E.K., Kutir Industries was inaugurated with Anantakrishna and B. Kishore. This was inaugurated as a manufacturing unit where Ayurvedic medicines are being prepared and got established as an ideal Ayurvedic pharmacy. With the experience gained from the training under Bhagavan Ananthacharya, Anantakrishna gradually brought all those products into manufacturing once again. Master E.K. added new formulae also with which Kutir Industries started functioning. Even before commencement of Kutir Industries, Anantakrishna, Dr. E.V.M Acharya and Kishore were preparing Ayurvedic hair oil and tooth powder at home which were packed and distributed in the dispensaries with the instruction of Master E.K. During the course of time, Anantakrishna developed new products specialised for the chronic problems in the internal organs.
In the year 1976, Master E.K. completed his fourth tour of European countries for his programme of fusion of East and West. After returning from the tour in November 1976, Master E.K. instructed Anantakrishna to be ready to go to Belgium. In February 1977, Anantakrishna was sent to Belgium for three weeks to work with the brotherhood of Belgium in continuation of his work. In the same year Master E.K. inaugurated the monthly English magazine ‘My Light’. Anantakrishna was contributing articles to that magazine and later from July 1983, he was made editor of the magazine. During the year 1978, Master E.K. inaugurated the homoeo monthly magazine, which was named as “Homoeo Brotherhood”. Anantakrishna was contributing his articles for this magazine also along with Dr. E.V.M Acharya.
In the year 1983, when Master E.K. returned from his seventh trip to the European countries, he called Anantakrishna and instructed him to handover the responsibilities of Kutir industries to Kishore and get ready to accompany Master from the coming year to European countries in the programme of spiritual fusion of East and West. In February 1984, before going to Mothugudem to conduct the special programme of classes, Master E.K. told Anantakrishna that the European tour programme was postponed for the time being, but Anantakrishna should be ready for that programme for which he has to visit those countries for many years. On the 17th March 1984, Master E.K. left his physical body. In the month of June, Anantakrishna was invited along with Sri Parvathi Kumar to attend the gathering of all the groups of European disciples of Master E.K. at Geneva by Rudolph Schneider, founder of “The Institute for Planetary Synthesis”. Accordingly starting from 1986 Anantakrishna had been continuing the programme of fusion of the East and West every year in all the countries which were visited by Master E.K. In addition to the countries visited by Master E.K., Anantakrishna’s tour programme was extended to Bolivia (South America), Philippines, Russia and Ukraine. In the year 1990, while Anantakrishna was leaving for the European tour, Sri Kotha Ramakotaiah blessed and gave send-off to Anantakrishna and indicated to him that there will be a call from Russia, where work of Master will be extended widely. During the trip to Russia in 2009, a programme was organised at a place in the forest located 70 Kilometres north to the city of St. Peters’Burg besides a lake. Anantakrishna was accompanied by his son Dr. E. Ananthacharya. Rudolph Schneider of IPS was also present for that programme. One morning Rudolph revealed an incident with Master E.K. in Geneva. During 1982 while Master E.K. was in Geneva, he told Rudolph that the second ray is working at a place besides a lake in a forest, 70 Kilometres north from the city of St. Peters’ Burg in Russia, where our programme will be conducted. Surprisingly it is exactly the same place where the programme was taking place. But Master never visited Russia and Ukraine while he was in physical body.
