Kulapathi Sriman Ekkirala Krishnamacharya (Master E.K.) was born on 11th August 1926 at Bapatla in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. His father was Bhagavan Ekkirala Ananthacharya who was a great seer of the Vedic wisdom, a great healer and propounder of the Ayurvedic science. The mother of Krishnamacharya is Smt. Butchamma who was a devotee of Lord Sri Krishna. She has induced her elder son Krishnamcharya into devotion to Lord Sri Krishna and inculcated deep taste in the reciting the stanzas from Srimad Bhagavatam in her son, even from the early childhood. Bhagavan Ananthacharya performed great penance being a house holder to bring a great light into a form on this earth. In this endeavor he made deep study of Bhagavad Gita and the result of all this was birth of Krishnamacharya. Hence he named his son as Krishnamacharya. Similarly while he was working on the Vedas, a second son was born and he was named as Veda Vyasa. Afterwards, while he was studying Srauta sutras of Bodhayana Maharshi, his third son was born, and he was named as Bodhayana. Later, while he was making deep study of the teachings of the sage Bharadwaja and his disciples in the science of Ayurveda, his fourth son was born, whom he named as Bharadwaja.
Bhagavan Ananthacharya was the spiritual guru, educator and teacher to his children. They were never sent to the school until the completion of school education. For them their house itself was the school and they received education in a real sense. Krishnamacharya got trained in the Vedic wisdom, sciences of Yoga, Astrology and Ayurveda, Sanskrit, Telugu and English literature along with the study of the real history of Bharath by his father. Krishnamacharya emerged as a poet from the early age. The insight of Vedic wisdom of Ananthacharya was reflected in the poetry that came down from Krishnamacharya in the form of Kavyas. The poetic pics composed by Krishnamacharya even at the student age were well appreciated by Sri Viswanatha Satyanarayana who was a great poet of that time and also literary guru of Krishnamacharya. After the college education he joined as student of Andhra University and got post-graduation in Telugu literature. After this he joined as a lecturer in Telugu in Hindu college, Guntur. He was greatly appreciated for his multi-dimensional teaching by the principal and the staff members of the college. The students in the college loved him so much and many of them became his spiritual disciples also.
Krishnamacharya got married to Smt. Appamma in 1948. After setting up his family at Guntur, he continued his intense ‘Thapas’ of Gayatri mantram. In this period he got the vision of Master C.V.V. who revealed himself as the guru to Krishnamacharya. Later Krishnamacharya realised that he was taken as a medium by his guru Master C.V.V. During this period Krishnamacharya got into contact with the theosophical literature through the study of ‘Secret Doctrine’ written by H.P. Blavatsky. The light of Lord Sri Krishna which is working through Lord Maitreya for the spiritual evaluation on this planet Earth. Master E.K. visualized that it is this light which revealed to him as a triangle of Masterhood which was guiding him. The three sides of triangle were Bhagavan Ananthacharya, the first guru, Master C.V.V. and Madam Blavatsky. The Masters of wisdom used to visit him in physical form giving directions to him regarding the work of humanity for which E.K. was sent to this planet. According to those instructions he went to Visakhapatnam for getting degree of PhD in Andhra University. During this period, he made intense study of the science of Homoeopathy to heal his second son and cure him completely and saved his life. Then he realised that his study of Homoeopathy was not limited only for his son and by the instruction of Masters he entered into the work of healing for all those who have been suffering from many incurable diseases. He also started teaching Homoeopathic science when many students gathered around him and the charitable service got expanded under his leadership through his disciples. After completion of PhD when he was about to return to Guntur, the university authorities felt the importance of retaining him in Visakhapatnam and appointed him as a lecturer in the department of Telugu in the university. Thus Krishnamacharya became resident of Visakhapatnam with his family.
Another important programme in the life of Master E.K. is the spiritual fusion of East and West. Accordingly he was invited by the Western brotherhood and visited many of the European countries seven times. During these visits several people were healed by him through his speeches, treatment with Homoeopathic medicine and above all his presence has showered divine grace on all of them. Many people of the west realised him as their Master and guide and felt relieved from many problems and received answers for many questions. In Bharath as well as in the West Master E.K. has directed the people into group living which was very much needed to neutralise the evil influence of Kali. For this purpose he has provided a wonderful formula for group living in the form of Gurupooja which he inaugurated in the year 1965 at Guntur which was extended later to Visakhapatnam and gradually to many places in Bharath as well in the West.
Another important dimension given by Master E.K. was about importance of education. He has cleared the confusion in the minds of people between literacy and education. He has given clear understanding about the real education and introduced practical procedures in the field of education by establishing new era institutions where the teaching methods were given basing on the ancient system of education of the Rishis in the Ashrams.
Another major part of his life was bringing down the ageless wisdom in the form of various books in Telugu as well as in English and also his discourses about these sciences. He dedicated his time in bringing out the soul of the text and significance for Vedas and Puranas. His writings covered the ancient scriptures, sciences and mysteries and secrets of the creation, which are to be applicable and synthesised for the human life. He himself mentioned the importance of bringing this writing for the benefit of future generations. Let us read this in his own words quoted here under: “The writing work I have undertaken is the work for which I have come down to Earth and it belongs to ages to come”.
